What is Exodus Wallet® Extension?
The Exodus Wallet® Extension is an easy-to-use browser or desktop add-on that brings Exodus’s portfolio, send/receive and swap features closer to your browser workflows. It pairs with the main Exodus app for full account management while keeping your private keys locally stored. Official resources: exodus.com and the support hub at support.exodus.com.
Key features
- Seamless send/receive and address management.
- Built-in exchange / swaps (third-party liquidity providers integrated inside the extension).
- Local key management — seed phrase stored securely on your device.
- Quick access to balances and transaction history without opening the full desktop app.
Logging in and account flow
Exodus Wallet® Extension uses local wallet logic: when you first install, you create a password and (if new) a recovery phrase. There is no remote “Exodus login” that stores your seed on a server. For official downloads and extension links use exodus.com/download.
Exodus Wallet® Exchange
The extension offers swap functionality via third-party providers. Before swapping, verify the provider and fees shown in the extension. Transaction confirmations happen on-chain and require you to approve via the extension interface.
Troubleshooting common issues
Unable to login / Extension not working: ensure you are using the official extension, update your browser and extension, clear the extension cache or reinstall from the official site. If the extension doesn't detect your wallet, open the full Exodus desktop app and confirm pairing.
Error connecting / Can't verify / Transaction declined: check network fees, provider status, and whether the blockchain is congested. Update the extension and desktop app; sometimes rebooting the browser or machine resolves connection hiccups.
Recovery & 2FA
Exodus Wallet® relies on a recovery phrase — store it offline and never share it. Exodus does not use centralized 2FA for your seed. If you enabled third-party 2FA for an exchange connected to Exodus, reset it through that exchange’s support channels. For official recovery steps see Exodus Support.
